今天我們要說(shuō)的是“面對(duì)現(xiàn)實(shí)”的一個(gè)表達(dá)法?！懊鎸?duì)”大家都知道可以選用動(dòng)詞face，那么，“現(xiàn)實(shí)”呢？您會(huì)選擇哪個(gè)詞來(lái)和face搭配呢？是 truth，或者reality? 不曉得您能不能想到music這個(gè)搭配，F(xiàn)ace the music，是“面對(duì)音樂(lè)”嗎？

我們先來(lái)看一個(gè)小對(duì)話。

A：I have decided to quit my job. 我決定辭職了。

B：You wanna change a job or just quit and do nothing? 你打算換個(gè)工作還是就辭職什么都不干了？

A：You know, traveling around the world is always my dream. I wanna do it right now. 你知道，環(huán)游世界一直是我的夢(mèng)想。我想現(xiàn)在就去實(shí)現(xiàn)。

B：What about the money problem? I don’t think it’s the right time to do that. 錢(qián)的問(wèn)題怎么解決。我認(rèn)為現(xiàn)在可不是你實(shí)現(xiàn)夢(mèng)想的時(shí)候。

A：I’ll figure out how. 我能想出解決辦法的。

B：You make your own choice and you’re the one to face the music. 你自己做決定，也自己承擔(dān)一切后果吧。

對(duì)話中的Face the music, 是一個(gè)習(xí)慣表達(dá)法，意思是“面對(duì)現(xiàn)實(shí)；接受懲罰”。我們?cè)賮?lái)看幾個(gè)例子。

Success faces the music, failure scared by taking consequence. 成功者勇于承擔(dān)責(zé)任；失敗者害怕承擔(dān)責(zé)任。

You’d better tell your parents what happened and face the music. 你最好告訴你父母發(fā)生了什么，然后面對(duì)后果。

We must stand together and face the music. 我們必須聯(lián)合起來(lái)共同面對(duì)這個(gè)事實(shí)。
